[Funded] Jacmoes Hardware Fund

D'oh..

I just realize that the Windows license I have now is an OEM license, which is normally installable on any machine, however: my particular OEM copy is from Fujitsu Siemens, so they have a BIOS check in it.

And a new motherboard means a new machine.

So I bought a new license: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1- OEM - 64 bit - Danish

Literally money out of the Windows.. :(

The bright side: I upgraded to Windows 7. ;)

I have installed Windows 7, and am installing MB drivers.
Going to install graphics drivers in a moment. :)

This took a lot longer than planned - and I completely wrecked the budget for this month already..

I fetched my stuff by car at a pickup point in Copenhagen and drove it all home.
And it was great!

But then I was struck by 3 problems. :P

1st problem: My Vista OEM was locked to my Fujitsu-Siemens machine (Bios in MB).
So I bought a copy of Windows 7 (as I wrote above)

2nd problem: When I took out the old MB I discovered it was a mini-ATX, sitting in a mini-ATX cabinet. So I drove down to the local hardware dealer and got a new cabinet.

3rd problem: When I got home and was almost done installing the new MB and plopped in my old hard disc drives and went to fetch my dvd drives when I noticed that they used the old IO cables (flat, grey stuff)..
I fired up my car and drove to the dealer and got myself a new dvd writer.

So - I also got a 24" LED monitor to replace my 17" LCD monitor which was failing.. ;)

I will give you some pics to watch in an hour or so.

I have the same monitor! :D The only thing I hate is the complete lack of hardware buttons. Makes it very hard to turn on in the dark, and sometimes whhen light is on.

I really like it - so much space! :D
I can see how productive that's going to be.

Only 22 programs left to install and configure...
